FAQ

What is DONT SPLASH?
A free horror-survival game that runs only on Roblox, made by the developer group Bacon Theory. Up to ten players per server cross flooded poolroom-style rooms on floating platforms while a blind, one-eyed monster hunts entirely by sound — splashing reveals you. The current V2 listing launched on October 17, 2026.
Is DONT SPLASH free to play?
Yes. The official Roblox API lists the game at price null — free to play with a standard free Roblox account — and it carries the platform's lowest content maturity bracket (Minimal) per its official listing, as checked on October 29, 2026. Servers hold up to 10 players.
Is there a DONT SPLASH APK, Steam version or PC download?
No. The game exists only inside Roblox — the official Roblox app or roblox.com. Our October 29, 2026 checks found no Steam listing, and every 'DONT SPLASH APK' result on Google pointed at unrelated apps that merely share the name Splash. Treat any APK claiming to be this game as fake.
Is DONT SPLASH the same game as Don't Spill The Water!?
No. Don't Spill The Water! is a separate Roblox party game by BrickByte Development — created August 27, 2026, Simulation genre, up to 30 players — where players take turns pouring water into a cup and whoever overflows it is out. DONT SPLASH is a horror survival game by Bacon Theory. They only share words about water.
What does V2 mean in DONT SPLASH?
It is the developer's own label. The official description opens with 'DONT SPLASH V2', and the Roblox listing was created October 17, 2026 — a rebuilt, re-uploaded version of the game. A pre-V2 version demonstrably existed in mid-October gameplay videos, but it is not in the developer group's public game list, so where the original lived is unverified.
Is there a DONT SPLASH Halloween update?
Not yet as of October 29, 2026 — the official API's last-updated timestamp still reads October 28, and no Halloween announcement has surfaced. With October 31 two days away and the game patching almost daily, one may still land; this page updates when it does.

What Is DONT SPLASH? (Quick Answer)

DONT SPLASH is a free horror-survival game that runs only inside Roblox, made by the developer group Bacon Theory. Up to ten players per server drop into a chain of flooded, tiled rooms and cross them on floating platforms — while a blind, one-eyed monster wades through the water hunting entirely by sound. Make a splash and it knows where you are; the official description says exactly that in two words: “DONT SPLASH, IT KNOWS”. The current listing launched on October 17, 2026, was last updated October 28, and had 95,538 people playing at the same time when we pulled the official Roblox API on October 29, 2026.

Every identity fact below comes straight from the official Roblox API, checked October 29, 2026:

The full official description, quoted verbatim from the API: “DONT SPLASH V2 / DONT SPLASH, IT KNOWS” and “DONT SPLASH is inspired by the eerie atmosphere of the Poolrooms and House of the Locust.” If you have not played yet, the beginner guide covers joining a server and surviving your first run; this page is the map of what the game is, who makes it, and — just as importantly — what it is not.

Who Made DONT SPLASH? (Bacon Theory)

The developer is Bacon Theory, a public Roblox group. The group API shows 120,560 members, an owner displayed as “ben” (username misfitsbsthree, whose personal account carries Roblox’s verified badge), and no group description or group-level verified badge. The group’s public game list contains exactly one game: the API’s group-games endpoint returns a single entry — this one — with no second page, so there are no other titles or announced projects on the group’s record.

Developer fact Official value (checked Oct 29, 2026)
Group name Bacon Theory (group ID 1065149497)
Members 120,560
Owner “ben” (misfitsbsthree) — account verified; group itself unverified
Public games Exactly one: this game
Group description Empty

That one game did 74.5 million visits in its first twelve days, which is why the group’s name is suddenly everywhere. Beyond that, almost nothing public is known about the team — no developer blog, no press kit, no documented history — so we will not invent a backstory.

What Do You Do in DONT SPLASH? (The Gameplay Loop)

The loop, in one sentence: sneak through flooded rooms without making a sound the water can carry. You spawn with up to nine other players, cross each room by jumping between floating platforms, and try to keep the water calm — the monster is blind and tracks sound, so every splash is a beacon. Community runs add that thrown Pebbles can pull its attention off your line, and official media shows flares and rope rescues as part of the kit.

  1. Queue into a public server — up to 10 players each, and private servers are disabled per the official API (the join flow is in the beginner guide).
  2. Pick a difficulty. Easy, Normal and Hard are all documented modes — community solo runs measure 3, 5 and 7 monsters respectively (the full breakdown is in our difficulties guide).
  3. Cross each room quietly. The monster hunts by sound alone — how its hearing works is the subject of our monster guide, and the movement habits that keep you silent are in the survival tips.
  4. Use the room’s tools when a crossing goes wrong — Pebbles, flares and rope rescues; what each does is covered in the items and tools guide.
  5. Reach the final room and escape — what awaits there (and what a clear actually gives you) is in the ending explained.

How many rooms that gauntlet has is not officially documented — community walkthroughs of the current build chapter it as nine named stages (documented from October 26 runs onward), while an earlier speedrun reading counts seven numbered rooms plus a Final Room. The full stage-by-stage map, with both readings reconciled, lives in our all-rooms walkthrough. The video below shows the whole structure in one no-commentary run, from spawn to escape:

How Much Does DONT SPLASH Cost? (Free on Roblox)

Free. The official API lists the game at price: null, which is Roblox’s way of saying there is no purchase gate — you need only a standard Roblox account, which is itself free, and the Roblox app (mobile, console, or the PC app) or any browser at roblox.com. Per its official listing the game sits in Roblox’s lowest content maturity bracket (Minimal), though it is still a horror game with a chase monster, which is worth knowing if you are checking it for a younger player.

Two honest footnotes on money. First, whether the game sells any optional in-game purchases for Robux is not documented either way — no source lists game passes, so we claim nothing. Second, there is a real in-run economy: runs earn Coins, Coins buy upgrades and equipment, and that kit is what the items and tools guide tracks. The red flare below is the official media’s clearest equipment example — a burn-it-when-a-crossing-goes-wrong escape item.

DONT SPLASH gameplay: a player holding a red flare runs from the monster along a tiled pool corridor — equipment like flares is what Coins buy

One shortcut that does not exist: redeem codes. As of our latest check there are none — runs are the only income — and our codes tracker updates the day that changes.

Is There a DONT SPLASH APK, Steam Version or Official Download? (No — Play It Safely)

No APK, no Steam version, no standalone download — the only official way to play is inside Roblox itself. We checked all three routes on October 29, 2026:

Where people look for a download What we found (Oct 29, 2026)
Google “dont splash apk download” First result is the official Roblox game page; the remaining APK results are unrelated products that merely share the name Splash — an “Imposter Game” party app and an Uptodown listing for a different app. None are this game.
Steam (site-restricted store search) Zero results — only similarly named games from other developers, like Don’t Pop!: Splash Race
Official web presence The Roblox game page and the Bacon Theory group page. No standalone website, launcher or store page exists.

So the install path is: get the official Roblox app or use roblox.com in a browser, then open the game’s page and press play. On PC that plays through the Roblox player — there is no separate “DONT SPLASH PC download”, and any file that claims to be one is not from the developer.

What Does ‘DONT SPLASH V2’ Mean?

It is the developer’s own label, not a community nickname. The official description’s first line reads “DONT SPLASH V2”, and the Roblox listing itself was created on October 17, 2026 — meaning everything on that listing, from the visit count to the media gallery, belongs to a rebuilt, re-uploaded version of the game rather than a day-one original.

A pre-V2 version clearly existed: gameplay videos of the same hide-and-don’t-splash concept were already circulating on October 15–16, before the current listing’s creation date. Where that original lived is unverified — the Bacon Theory group’s public game list contains only the V2 listing, so the earlier version was either deleted, moved to another account, or never publicly listed at all. None of those can be confirmed from public data.

For players the practical takeaway is simple: any guide, video or “old” tip dated before October 17 describes a build that may no longer exist. Stage lists, room counts and mechanics on this site are dated and tied to the V2 listing — start from the all-rooms walkthrough for the current map rather than older coverage elsewhere.

DONT SPLASH vs Don’t Spill The Water! (Not the Same Game)

These two keep colliding in the same search results — our October 29, 2026 Google checks surfaced both on one page — because both are Roblox games with water in the name. They are different games by different developers, and the official API makes the split unambiguous:

DONT SPLASH Don’t Spill The Water!
Developer Bacon Theory BrickByte Development
Created October 17, 2026 August 27, 2026
Genre Obby & Platformer → Runner Simulation (Incremental Simulator)
Players per server Up to 10 Up to 30
What you do Cross flooded poolrooms quietly; a blind monster hunts by sound Party game — per its own official description: “Take turns pouring water into the cup… but be careful! If YOU make it overflow, you’re OUT!”
Playing at check 95,538 0
Lifetime visits 74,561,944 135,652

Nothing connects them beyond the water theme: different groups, different genres, different scales, and — per the other game’s own Roblox page — different play entirely. If you searched for one and landed on the other, the links in that table (DONT SPLASH / Don’t Spill The Water!) take you to the right official page. And if it is the horror game you wanted, the beginner guide starts here on the right site.

Is DONT SPLASH Connected to the Poolrooms or Backrooms?

Partly — by the developer’s own words, with one name still unexplained. The official description states the game “is inspired by the eerie atmosphere of the Poolrooms and House of the Locust.” The first reference is clear: the Poolrooms are the internet’s liminal-space image of endless tiled, half-flooded pools and corridors, and the game’s rooms visibly borrow that look — the official media on this page is all tiled water and columns.

The Backrooms, though, are never mentioned by the developer. The Poolrooms aesthetic is often lumped into Backrooms-adjacent liminal horror by fans, so the association writes itself — but as of October 29, 2026 it is community framing, not an official claim, and we present it as exactly that. As for “House of the Locust”, the description’s second inspiration: no official source explains what it refers to — it could be another Roblox game, a map, or something else entirely, and nothing we could verify settles it.

Enormously — for its age. The game is twelve days old at verification and the official API reads like a title that has been out for a year:

Popularity metric Official value (checked Oct 29, 2026)
Concurrent players 95,538
Lifetime visits 74,561,944
Favorites 234,106
Likes / dislikes 45,192 / 6,026 (88.2% positive)
Age at check 12 days (created Oct 17, 2026)

The growth curve, as fan-tracked: a Roblox tracking channel (Roblox Radar) self-reports in its video description that the game’s daily player count climbed from 5,197 to 87,321 within four days of launch week — a tracker’s own numbers rather than developer or API data, but consistent with the official totals above. Big-channel adoption tells the same story: two of Roblox’s largest creators published runs in the game’s first two weeks, and their view counts are part of why searches for the game exploded:

IF YOU MAKE A SPLASH YOU'RE GETTING CLAPPED (roblox Dont Splash) — Kubz Scouts

ROBLOX DON'T SPLASH.. — CaylusBlox

The Kubz Scouts upload sat at 432,000 views when we checked on October 29, and the CaylusBlox run at 300,000 — both within days of publishing. Much of the clip material fueling that spread is exactly the scene below: squad runs, near-misses, and rope rescues at the last second.

DONT SPLASH co-op gameplay: a player pulls a drowning teammate out of the water with a rope while the monster closes in

All of these numbers move hourly — treat them as a dated snapshot, not a spec sheet.

Is There a Halloween Update Yet? (October 2026)

Not as of October 29, 2026. The official API’s last-updated timestamp still reads October 28, 2026, and no Halloween announcement, event or themed stage has surfaced in our checks. With October 31 two days away and the game patching almost daily, a themed update could still land before the holiday — but nothing confirms one, and we will not preview numbers or content nobody has announced. If one drops, it will appear on the game’s official page first; our guides hub and homepage carry the dated coverage as we verify it.

What Is DONT SPLASH FAQ (Last Verified: October 29, 2026)

The quick-answer card at the top of this page covers the six questions players search most, each answer dated October 29, 2026. The questions it deliberately does not answer yet:

Which definition questions are still open?

As of October 29, 2026: the official room count (community readings say nine named stages or seven rooms plus a Final Room); what “House of the Locust” in the official description refers to; where the pre-V2 version of the game lived and why it is absent from the developer group’s public list; whether the game sells optional Robux purchases; whether an official Discord or social channel exists; and any developer background beyond the group’s public page. When any of these is verifiable, the answer moves into the guide proper.

More verified coverage — the monster’s sound tracking, room-by-room routes, the mode differences and the codes watch — collects in the guides hub. Bookmark the homepage while the game is patching almost daily: every page on this site carries the date it was last checked.
